Santa came early for me this year. The little dark ukulele is called Lani for Lanikai. She’s a soprano who once belonged to a friend who had to downsize. I got her at the last NM Duclcimer Festival. The lighter, “concert” Uke I got at the Real McCoy Folk shop in Madrid, NM. Her name is Flower because she has fairies and flowers, as well as a flower for a sound hole. They are nice additions to my instrument family. Now I just have to learn to play them.
I made Flower a new case from the zebra-rose surface design I made through Spoonflower.com, as well as some zebra fabric I found at a local thrift store. I added a small, pink-zippered “pick pocket” on the end of the case using a left over zipper from some other project. I think Flower looks quite comfy in her new travel case. What do you think?
