I finished building the “nest” portion of these first five thread paintings and attached them over the past couple of days. I just have one more bird in flight to finish, then I’ll start on the quilt background. Still puzzling on how I want to pull it all together. That’s part of the fun of the creative process. Sometimes I don’t know how it will look until I actually start working on it. Then, either all my ideas come together, or they all fly out the window for some new inspiration that takes over. Native American artists talk about the medium speaking through them. I guess thread and fabric can do that with me. Perhaps it is some Artistic Muse I have no name for, but guides my creation. Whatever it is, I love the surprise of the finished product.
