Moving into the Light

Finally finished the dark edges of my Foggy River grasses. Yesterday, I finished the light edge on the first panel.

I’m hoping that these progressive photos and descriptions of fabric art projects will also bring light to the world, or at least those interested in my little blog, about the creative effort involved in making this kind of art.

“Women’s Work” and “Women’s Art” has been grossly under rated by a male dominated world throughout history. Women artists like Georgia O’Keeffe and others have helped to correct that. I had one Museum Director scoff at pictures of my work when he heard I embroidered using a machine. Is that any less artistic than a sculptor using a chain saw??

Studio Art Quilters Association (SAQA) works tirelessly to send exhibitions around the country, and the world, to build appreciation and understanding. I think they’re having an impact.

Happily retired! Renewing my interests in music and art. Hoping to improve my skills in all creative areas.
