38 years ago today, a week after my birthday, I accepted Isaac’s invitation to “get together socially.” I was singing weddings at the time, and had to “fit him in my schedule.” He thought it was a very “smooth” way to decline his offer.
A year later, we were married in Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Park, in Riverside California, a park that was established due to our first environmental efforts as a couple. The park was established on February 14, 1983. We were married the following May with a handful of close friends in attendance. A minister of the Mother Earth Church presided.
We have since been involved in the creation and establishment of Fair Heights Neighborhood Association (now Mile High District), and Petroglyph National Monument. All rather prolonged, stressful, but worthwhile efforts. So a few years ago, Isaac asked me, “why have you stayed with me all these years?” This song was the result of my musings. The video quality is low to keep the MB’s small.
