I needed a break from the mechanics of building my “Flowers in the Wind” fabric art. I also needed something new to cheer myself up.

What better therapy than using a tried and true pattern for a cool, cotton summer blouse? What more fun than to see my own surface designs come together in a cheerful addition to my wardrobe?

Since I print my proofs on a “fill-a-yard” I never have enough of one design to make a whole shirt. So, necessity being the mother of invention, I improvised. The front is one design, the back another. The sleeves are a third and fourth: large and small Jungle Leaves! It’s a one-of-a-kind!
I shall make a debut with it on our river drive tomorrow. I may not quite blend in to the bosque greenery, but I’ll be in the same spirit of growth and vibrant life!
