Expanding the Story Without Loosing the Focus

I’ve fused the background plants for the Spiral Pink Flowers, and the Orang Roses. I’ve fused a few rose pedals so they will be 3D once they’re attached. I’ve gotten the fusion material on the backs of the Lavender heads and hope to fuse the Lavender base in the next few days. I love watching the story quilt come together in little stages. I love the process of deciding what comes next and how to proceed from there. I fall asleep thinking of ways to incorporate other ideas in the quilting pattern rather than application of more layers. I’m even toying with the idea of beads or ribbon. The trick is not to loose the focus with too many bells and whistles. The focus must be the story of my baby Phoebes. But I’m hoping to include the full story of prey-predictor and environment. The challenge is always knowing when to leave well enough alone.
