This Kimono was inspired by the Sandhills that visit New Mexico in the winter. They are so elegant and majestic in their beauty.
The kimono measures 29 inches from the center of the back to the end of the sleeve or 58 inches from one sleeve end to the other. It is 27 inches from the shoulder to the bottom edge. It is 100% cotton, long sleeved with inside pockets. The fabric art of the sandhill crane was layered with lame´ and accented with clear beads to add to the effect of water and splashing. Additionally, the fabric art was framed with a chevron quilt pattern which is echoed along the collar, “lapel” and cuffs.
The fabric has been machine washed twice on a gentle setting: once in it’s original form, then again, in its kimono form. Hand washing is recommended. Ironing with a cotton setting is recommended on everything EXCEPT the fabric art on the back.
